課程概述

Some guidelines:
1. Attendance is mandatory. Class begins at 9:10 a.m.
2. Papers (properly formatted hard copies, not digital files) must be handed in on time. Late papers will not be graded, though they will be corrected. The required length is 700–1000 words (3–4 pages, double-spaced).
3. Grading is as follows: class participation, including homework and preparation (40%); papers (60%).

課程目標
The goal of this course is to introduce some of the main modes of English writing through detailed readings of models by various writers as well as former students, and to give students the opportunity to develop skills through writing papers and other shorter pieces.
課程要求
Those miss classes six times or more, and those who hand in papers late twice or more will not receive a final grade.
